This is another sole for real update and preview for all you sneakerheads in the Barbershop Nation. Today we preview the Flint Grey Retro XIII, the shoe that made its first appearance back in 1998. For my hip hop heads, this was also the same year Jay-Z dropped Hard Knock Life Vol. 2. This was the last model that Michael Jordan played in as a member of the Chicago Bulls other than the pair of XIV that he wore in the last game against the Utah Jazz. The shoe was designed by the great Tinker Hatfield, the engineer of a lot of great Jordan models. One of the coolest features of the shoe is the hologram that appears on the upper shoe. This hologram depending on the angle viewed. Choices are a basketball, the number 23 or the Jumpman logo.
If all that doesn’t sell you, keep in mind, Jordan took the Bulls to the NBA finals with this shoe and won his sixth championship ring. He also broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record for consecutive games with double digit scoring with his 788th consecutive game.
This colorway is probably the most popular in this shoe. Collectors have been waiting for the limited line to drop, so expect heavy lines on the official release date, Nov. 26.
